Fridays are Fun(draising) Friday! I’ll update you on my fundraising progress for Team Challenge, and share some random fun stuff because it’s Friday. 🙂 (You can read more about why I’m raising money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America through Team Challenge in this post.)
My overall goal is to raise $3,700.00 by Nov. 6, 2013, and thanks to some fabulous friends and family I’ve already got donations coming in! Thank you so much! After week 1, I’ve raised $335. I have a ways to go, but I’m super excited to be off to a great start. I’ll be coming up with some creative fundraising strategies/events along the way, so stay tuned for those! 😉 Our Team Challenge chapter will also probably plan a couple group fundraising events that I’ll let you know about in case you’re able to join in the fun.
I know when I donate money, I kind of like to know a little something about the organization and where the money is going. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. When I went to the informational session for Team Challenge, I found out that CCFA received one of only 6 “A” ratings (out of 44 charities) from the American Institute of Philanthropy in its most recent watchdog report and CCFA consistently meets high standards for a charity. I was happy to hear that more than 80 cents of every dollar goes directly toward research, education, and support services. Even better yet, the funds that I raise with the Minnesota/Dakotas chapter will stay in our area, so I know people around me are benefiting from these fundraising efforts.

The half marathon I’m training/fundraising for is in Las Vegas! I love Vegas. I’ve been twice and I’m excited to go back because there are definitely still things on my Vegas to-do list. Thanks to Team Challenge, I get to add “run on the Las Vegas strip at night” to that list! Here are a few Vegas pics for a Friday morning. TGIF 🙂
